From Awful to Awesome

Main Course: 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity (Jeremiah 29:11-13a; cf. John 6:6).

Since we are heirs of God, joint heirs with Christ and all things are ours, the only reason we have to ask for anything on this earth (for example: to find a job, apply for an apartment, pay for a car, etc.) is because it’s part of the perfection process to be made more like Christ (to be made in the image of His Son).

If we don’t understand the purpose and the process, the whole concept of being born on this earth (the transactions of life), then it will be an awful journey for us. But if we yield to it - the perfection process of His Will for our life in Christ, we will experience our destiny, our wealthy place (Ps. 66:12), a place flowing with milk and honey (Ex. 3:17). Our journey will be filled with delight (Ps. 37:4-5), and it will be awesome! We must choose this day - every day who we will serve: God or mammon, an awful day or an awesome day.

Caveat: we have a different interpretation of what this process should look like, almost the opposite of what we experience. Our will is set on our way of doing things, hence the conflict of God’s will and way versus ours (cf. Is. 55:8-9). Cont'd
