Love, the Centerpiece of Humanity

Main Course: 4 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud 5 or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. 6 It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. 7 Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. 8 Prophecy and speaking in unknown languages[b] and special knowledge will become useless. But love will last forever! (1 Cor. 13:4-8)

Any day is a good day for Love and why not today? The Bible says, “This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you (Jn. 15:12). Love is the foundation in our relationship with God and so likewise it should be the same with others. As we go through life, we are sometimes challenged to extend love in situations that are difficult but we must remember our foundation, love – God Himself. Knowing this, we can do all things because we are rooted and grounded in God’s love for us (Eph. 3:17; cf. Jerm. 31:3). Let’s admit it, this commandment is hard to follow sometimes, but as we are enabled by the power of Holy Spirit we can love even our enemies. This is a miracle and a testament that God is alive in us, something the world cannot do because they don’t have His Spirit in them. Today I challenge you to let the Light of God’s love shine through you wherever you go. Expect to shine because you are a love vessel, a vessel of honor (1 Cor. 13:1-12, ref. 2 Tim. 2:21). Let's stay where God put us - at the center of His heart.
