Big Mama's House - Part IV

To summarize their collaboration, we actually see how Wisdom and Patience are working together to perfect our faith. The teamwork of these 2 is expressed in James 1:4-5. Patience says, “If you don’t understand what I’m doing, just talk to Wisdom, she’ll tell you what’s going on. She ‘ll take you behind the scenes so you can understand my work.” Patience's main concern is that we continue to yield until the work is complete. Don’t run from the flames or the heat, but look to Jesus (Heb. 12:1-2) because in the long run, the test or trial is strengthening our faith; that’s the goal, the gold and great value (cf. 1 Pet. 1:8). We grow, mature and become more productive in the kingdom of God, and this end result brings glory to God.

Are you at Big Mama's House learning to hear and wait on God? You know you have passed the test when your response is like King David (1 Sam 17:46-47; 30:8; 2 Sam. 5:17-25); King Jehoshaphat (2 Chron. 20:12); Joseph (Gen. 41:16); Esther’s (4:16); Sarah (Heb. 11:11); Abraham (Rms. 4:20-21); Jesus (Heb. 12:2); etc. When you learn not to make a move without God, to trust and rely on Him at every turn in life, then your reward/promotion is at the door.
