The mindset of a Builder (Part II)
This was not Nehemiah's problem, rather it was his strong point and you can definitely see the results of its effectiveness in that area, along with him being a strategist to get the job done. His focus really makes you think about all the times you've wasted in being indecisive and unfocused. But each day is a new day and we can regain our focus and charge right through with the help of the Lord (staying prayerful and not being distracted or discouraged by the enemy). We need to adopt Nehemiah’s mindset as was Jesus’ which was to watch and pray (Matt. 26:41); and we'll be finished in no time at all because His yoke is easy and His burden is lite (Matt. 11:30).
My prayer is that our lives will be focused in every way, not turning to the to the left or right, to move like the 4 living creatures, straight ahead to do God's Will (cf. 2 Kin 13:17). Even if God never removes the enemies out of the way, no matter comes our way, we are victorious and triumphant in Him (I Cor. 15:57; 2 Cor. 2:14). God loves to prepare a table before us in the presence of our enemies (Ps. 23:5) because he gets more glory that way.
Whatever your assignment is you need to get to it and not look back! Ask God to redeem the time and you'll end up on time even like Elijah who outran Ahab because the Spirit of the Lord carried him (1 Kin. 18:46). Are you focused enough to do your assignment in record time?
