What we lost and seek to gain - Part I


Main Course: Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves (Gen. 3:7).

The first thing their eyes (Adam & Eve) saw was their nakedness, lack (they lacked clothing / covering / protection). After the Fall of Man, this plight is now our default, always seeing what we don’t have, rather than seeing what we do have - God Himself and how great He is.

They lacked covering because the protection has been removed since they disobeyed God’s Word. The same applies today when we disobey God’s instruction, we lack His protection and covering. We will always be seeking or looking at what is missing. In this carnal state, we are now naked and vulnerable in the spirit realm to Satan’s attacks and missiles of destruction. When he’s walking about seeking whom he may devour, he is indeed looking for those who are not protected, those who are living in disobedience to God.

Unfortunately, saints (in their hearts) as well as sinners (in their lifestyles) are guilty of being in this condition towards God. (1 Pet 5:8; Col. 3:5-6). So like Adam & Eve, what was provided for them in the Spirit was cancelled/broken; and immediately they had to make something happen for themselves in the flesh/natural. However their failed attempt was re-done by God Himself showing us that we cannot cover or protect ourselves.
