At flood stage - Part I

Main Course: And as they that bare the ark were come unto Jordan, and the feet of the priests that bare the ark were dipped in the brim of the water, (for Jordan overfloweth all his banks all the time of harvest (Josh. 3:15).

No doubt, the floods here in Houston are symbolic of our spiritual lives in that we need the waters from the sanctuary, the rain of His glory to come and flood our souls (Ezk. 47:1-2). To let the waters rise so high that we will be driven out of our places of complacency and mediocrity. Our souls need to be flooded by His power working in us, and resting in us (Eph. 3:20) so much that in our presence people will be convicted urging “what must I do to be saved” (Acts 16:30). It is only when the waters of our spirit are at flood stage that our world and the people around us will start to notice and recognize this is an act of God. It is not until we are filled with the Spirit (Eph. 5:18-21) and that the waters overflow, overflow their banks that we will move out in faith. This kind of fullness in spirit is what Paul experienced when they locked him up, the power of God working in him broke the bands of wickedness (Acts 16:25-31). This is the kind of power or anointing that was on Samson’s life to break free of any type of bondage (Judges 13:5). Part of being filled with the spirit means that any plot, plan, scheme or act of retaliation from the enemy will be shaken loose by the strength and power of God working in us. cont'd...
