The Finisher (the full reward) - Part I

Main Course: Now unto him who is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God our Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen. (Jude 1:24-25)

We don't live "in the short" = a person without a new nature (always coming up short of pleasing God, always coming up short of Him not getting the glory out of our lives. We are not suppose to live like a person without a born-again spirit. There were people in the Old Testament who couldn't help it, they had a reason to fall because they had an old nature and Christ had not yet come and died for their sins so that they could experience new life everyday within their hearts, mind, and spirit. But we do, we have no excuse; they were all nailed to the cross.

So how can we compare ourselves to King David when he sinned with Bathsheba when he didn't even have the spirit of God dwelling in him (2 Sam 12:7-12). Thank God his heart was toward God, but there was no power in his life to restrain him or to overcome the old/human nature. So it is a poor and a sad excuse when many people today try to compare the shortcomings of the people in the OT with our lives as born again believers with a new nature. The spirit of God came upon them at times, but would lift off of them due to the sinful nature of man. All man had at that time was his heart to abide by the law - law of Moses and this God honored and rewarded accordingly - cont'd...
