The Divine Purpose of Praise and Worship (Part II)

Main Course: "And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing" (Revelation 5:11-12).

Now you may say what words of praise and worship is most effective because there are some changes that need to happen quickly or immediately. Just like when you call to activate your new bank card, or you go in to a bank and make a transaction, the deposit/change is made immediately. But if you conduct business after 4pm, on a weekend or use an ATM, it will take longer. At certain times in your life, you need praise and worship that's effective immediately! And because heaven is not governed by the laws of time, everything is always now (Is. 65:24; cf. Jn. 6:5). Here is the answer: Revelation 5:12 says, “with a loud voice, worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and blessing” (cf. Mark 10:46-52). This is a full and perfect praise worthy of the Lamb (7 attributes).

However, one particular noteworthy consideration is this: If you are not willing to be slain (cf. Rms. 8:12-13; Jn. 12:25), you won’t have the capacity or the capability to receive what God has prepared for you because that is what death produces for kingdom citizens. These 7 attributes are the proceeds of it – death to the flesh to live in fullness (without lack or limitations to anything in this world). The trap of being subject to fear and bondage has been broken (Heb. 2:14-15). In Christ Jesus, we are no longer bound by the influence or the control of systems and people (man-made systems influenced or controlled any demonic powers/forces). It is the difference between managing and mastering situations, having dominion and ruling from a place of heavenly authority.

To summarize, if we understand the purpose of praise and worship, we can defeat the devil every time. As a result, we can give God glory for all the marvelous things he has done for us. When God sees (His image) and hears Himself (His Word) in the earth realm He is pleased immeasurably, and His reward is certain (Heb. 11:6; Ps. 24:5).

Will you allow Him to transform you into His image through praise and worship today?
