Who is This? - Part I

Main Course: Who is this that cometh up from the wilderness, leaning upon her beloved? I raised thee up under the apple tree: there thy mother brought thee forth: there she brought thee forth that bare thee (Song 8:5)

Who is this coming up from the wilderness leaning on her beloved. The Shulammite had perhaps been in a dry place, a hot place, an uncomfortable space, inconvenient, in scarcity, and probably in danger at times, but she had been depending, trusting, relying, believing, praying, speaking his word, praising his name, glorying him, exalting him, lifting him up, gazing upon him, adoring him, admiring his handiwork…. She learned to shift her weight onto Him because He’s strong (she stopped trying to carry the load, bare the burdens in the heat of the day)… She casts all her care on Him because He cares for her ... it was His good pleasure to give her the kingdom, no good thing He withholds from her. She seeks the Lord and she does not want for any good thing. He works everything out for her good (cont'd).
